The new video, which director Maikoiyo Alley-Barnes calls a “A
short visual meditation on the textile traditions of home, sacred Geo Metrics,
theta based communication and the whirling dervish. A sonically driven
work of ancient Afro continuum…” stars the group alongside label mates Porter
Ray and Ishmael Butler of Shabazz Palaces.
I-D says of “EarthEE”: “Utterly mesmerizing, this four minute video
employs compelling graphics that helps propel the song even further into the
light fantastic.”
In other news, Pitchfork recently included THEESatisfaction’s EarthEE in
it’s “Overlooked Records 2015”, and said: “You could imagine
THEESatisfaction—the Seattle boho rap duo of Cat Harris-White and Stasia
Irons—recording in accordance with the phases of the moon. Their second album, EarthEE,
is alluringly cosmic, no doubt, but their neo-soul has more resonance given its
powerful sociopolitical critique…Unbound by genre or modes of thinking, EarthEE keeps
tugging at the shapes of music and minds to come (see Pitchfork July

Tuesday, July 21st in Madrid, ES at Sala Siroco and ends August 29th in
Seattle, WA with a Black Weirdo DJ Set at Northwest African American History

Sleater-Kinney’s previously announced 2015 tour schedule resumes Saturday, July 18th with a headlining performance at Pitchfork Music Festival, and their next festival appearance will be November 21st-22nd in Mexico City’s Corona Capital Festival.
Then from December 4th-16th, Sleater-Kinney will embark on a Midwestern-East Coast U.S. For the December 12th-16th dates, the group will play five special shows throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn, moving from the large to intimate. Robin had this to say about the new video: “Exciting to work with The Helio Sequence again, and felt very lucky to have collaborated with Emanuele Kabu. My particular contribution to the look of the “live” portion of this video involved running the motion vector information through a small set of looping “electric” colors, then blacking out the static background, creating a kind of Tron-like world. Once that was in place we sent it off to Emanuele to dream up whatever he wanted… and I think it all turned out fantastic. A really fun project to be involved in.”

There are just 2 days left to support Sub Pop’s Ride in STP, supporting the Northwest Parkinson’s Foundation.
This coming weekend, Sub Pop Records employees will join in the 202-mile Seattle to Portland (STP) Bicycle Classic held on July 11 -12, 2015. Now in its 36th year, the STP is the largest multi-day ride in the Northwest with up to 10,000 riders making the journey through Western Washington and Oregon.
In January of 2013, Sub Pop Records Co-Founder Jonathan Poneman was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. In a 2013 Seattle Times article, Poneman states, “I accept that I have this disease, but that doesn’t give me the right to be passive.” In response, Sub Pop Records employees will be raising money for the Northwest Parkinson’s Foundation (NWPF) by doing the infamous STP bike ride.

Since being diagnosed, our President has done everything he can to show others that there is life beyond Parkinson’s. He actually explains it as sort of a blessing. Parkinson’s has allowed him to “recalibrate” important values.
“As ironic as it sounds, I am truly grateful to the disease.” Poneman explains further that, “My love of life and its precious elements became more vivid at the thought of seeing them fade away.”
