“C’mon America” is the A-side to Jeff Tweedy’s single, and is from an unreleased group of songs with mostly sci-fi lyrics. Meanwhile “UR-60 Unsent,” the B-side, is a pitiful tale of an unsent lovesick mixtape, taken from a separate batch of unreleased songs with mostly pitiful lyrics.
As the founding member and leader of the Grammy Award-winning American rock band Wilco, and before that the co-founder of the alt‐country band Uncle Tupelo, Jeff Tweedy is one of contemporary music’s most accomplished songwriters, musicians, and performers. He has released three solo albums, written original songs for eleven Wilco albums, and is the author of two New York Times’ Best Sellers, Let’s Go (So We Can Get Back): A Memoir of Recording and Discording with Wilco, etc. and How To Write One Song. Jeff’s most recent solo album, Love Is The King, was released in 2020, and this past year has seen the launch of his Substack Newsletter, Starship Casual. Jeff lives in Chicago with his family. TV Priest’s “All Thing” is the B-side from their contribution to the series, and follows the release of “Lifesize,” the single’s A-side, released last month.
TV Priest’s Charlie Drinkwater says “‘All Thing’ is a subversion of the Anglo Saxon word for parliament or meeting (Althing or Thing). It asks questions about the power of groupthink and ideas of nationhood that have become static, non-inclusive and singular.”
Having played festivals curated by the likes of IDLES and Sports Team, as well as Manchester Psych Fest this summer, TV Priest returns to the stages of the UK and France this October and November, with appearances at Sirens Festival in Glasgow and Edinburgh as well as the Pitchfork Festival in Paris. The band will then share the stage with A Place to Bury Strangers in North America in early 2022. Shannon Lay’s alluring new record, Geist is out today worldwide via Sub Pop. Geist has received acclaimed support from places like Uncut, Stereogum, Under the Radar and Mojo. Pitchfork gave her single “Rare to Wake” its coveted “Best New Track,” saying “Shannon Lay delivers each moment in “Rare to Wake” with deep care and intention. Throughout the song’s five-minute runtime, the Los Angeles songwriter’s voice never appears unaccompanied: It is always layered in harmonies, followed by wordless echoes, or conversing with a sparse ensemble of upright bass, keys, electric guitar, and handclaps. Her lyrics are formed by existential concerns (“Have I always been who I am?”) and quiet affirmations (“I am longing to grow”). While her words slowly outline an imagistic narrative, the real story is in the sound itself—percussion teases a climax that never arrives, the background vocals sometimes overtake the lead, and her central acoustic guitar riff loops with the steady, meditative quality of ambient synths. Like a living painting, each new texture and color shifts the mood.”

Sub Pop has (FINALLY!) signed the beloved Pacific Northwest rock band Built to Spill for the entire known universe, to release music for the label in 2022 and beyond. Over the course of 8 studio albums, a compilation, a live record, and consistently legendary live shows, Doug Martsch and his band have created some of our favorite music of the last few decades. We’re feeling pretty pleased with ourselves on this one.
In celebration of this news, Built to Spill is sharing its first round of western US tour dates for 2022 which begins with a two-night stand January 26th-27th at The Crocodile in Seattle, and runs through February 11th-12th with a two-night stand at the Fillmore in San Francisco. Tickets for these shows go on sale Friday, October 8th at 1 pm (local). The 2022 dates will feature direct support from Prism Bitch, with Oh, Rose, and Itchy Kitty opening on select dates. Today, October 5th, Hannah Jadagu (pron. juh-dah-goo) is releasing “All My Time Is Wasted,” a new single out worldwide on all DSPs from Sub Pop. The song features lyrics and arrangements from Hannah, was composed and co-produced by the singer and Huck, and includes guest backing vocals from Frankie Cosmos.
Hannah says, “’All My Time Is Wasted’ is a song I began writing last year during my first semester in college. The hook came to me after feeling very inadequate, despite the new adjustments, hard work, and risks I had been taking. Recently I finished writing it (the song) this summer post my first year at school, new job, and new opportunities. It’s a feeling I always feel!”
“All My Time Is Wasted” follows the release of What Is Going On?, her acclaimed EP released earlier this year.
Hannah’s previously announced fall 2021 tour dates (Links here) supporting Wild Nothing and Beach Fossils, which are currently underway, run through November 1st at New York’s Brooklyn Steel.
Additionally, on October 29th, 2021, Hannah has announced a headline show at the Sultan Room in Brooklyn.

Corridor has returned with “Et Hop,” a new single out today on all DSPs worldwide from Sub Pop and in Canada through Bonsound. The song is the band’s first new recorded material since the release of Junior, their acclaimed album from 2019.
Written during the sessions for Corridor’s second LP, Supermercado, “Et Hop” was a gem gathering dust in the band’s musical vault. But when CISM, the student-run radio station at the University of Montreal, asked the band if they wanted to release a song to mark the radio station’s 30th-anniversary, they knew exactly what to offer.
Corridor is a guitar-slinging, anthem-singing band from Montreal. They are DIY enthusiasts of the earnest variety: the kind who like to design their own merch and create mind-bending animated music videos for their catchy, captivating tunes. They also happen to be the first Francophone act ever signed to Sub Pop.
Junior, the band’s third full-length and first for Sub Pop, has a special kind of “je ne sais quoi?” that comes from self-imposed restraints. With a deadline to submit a finished record looming, the members of Corridor - Jonathan Robert (guitar & vocals), Dominic Berthiaume (bass), Julian Perreault (guitar), and Julien Bakvis (drums) - hunkered down and wrote furiously, never stopping to second guess themselves. The end result is a record defined by intimacy and immediacy. Is it kosmische Musik? Is it indie rock? Is it post-punk? It’s all those things and more. It’s Corridor.
The impact of Junior was immediate and enduring. It earned Corridor rave reviews from Brooklyn Vegan, CLASH, PASTE, Stereogum, Exclaim!, and more. Their live performance also impressed, as evidenced by the band’s KEXP session and their dynamic shows. The band toured Europe and North America, a string of shows that established Corridor as one of the brightest and best of the genre. The shows went so well, in fact, that they decided to make Samuel Gougoux - a live collaborator for the Junior tour - a full-time member.
Corridor has also added headlining performances to its 2022 touring schedule, which includes new dates in Brooklyn, Philadelphia, Chicago, and Grand Rapids.
