Later known as 3 Songs, one of the band’s watershed EPs, this trio of songs started out as an edition of the Sub Pop Singles Club, displaying the early gifts of the Washington D.C. quartet. A rumination on scene politics, an exploratory instrumental, and a hookup that ends with the protagonist wondering if money can substitute for taking responsibility for the dissolution of said hookup – three songs which represented the continued ascent of one of the most talented bands traversing the rock underground.
