Today, musician Suki Waterhouse releases her sophomore album, Memoir of a Sparklemuffin, “A sprawling 18-track release that never outstays its welcome and features plenty of shining moments” (Associated Press). The album, which features the Top 20AAAradio single “Supersad” and her EPIC, just-released video for “Model, Actress, Whatever,” along with highlights “To Love,” “OMG,” “My Fun,” and ‘Faded,” is available now on CD/2xLP/CS/DSPs worldwide from Sub Pop. Full track-listing is below.
The platinum-certified songstress asserts herself as a versatile, vibrant, and vital presence on Memoir of a Sparklemuffin. Suki brought this body of work to life with the album’s Executive Producer, Eli Hirsch, as well as Jonathan Rado (Weyes Blood, Father John Misty, Beyonce), Brad Cook (Bon Iver, War on Drugs, Snail Mail), Greg Gonzalez (Cigarettes After Sex), Rick Nowels (James Blake, Lana del Rey), and Natalie Findlay and Jules Apollinaire of the band Ttrruuces (with whom she co-wrote “Good Looking”).
All Music says Memoir of a Sparklemuffin is “A dramatic, double-length sophomore LP that puts the musician/actress in the company of artists like Lana Del Rey and Angel Olsen (4 Stars). The Line of Best Fit says, “Waterhouse offers an immersive journey through the corners of her mind. With stylings reminiscent of Lana Del Rey and Wolf Alice, it’s a messy yet beautiful array of diary-like confessions that weave between cutting balladry and defiant pop-rock.” As for her current radio single, Rolling Stone calls “Supersad” “A polished garage-rock anthem merging scuzzy guitars.”
Suki Waterhouse has also scheduled a performance with Amazon Music City Sessions, which will be broadcast live on Thursday, September 19th, from Los Angeles. Suki and her band will be playing a selection of cuts from Memoir of a Sparklemuffin, as well as her debut, I Can’t Let Go, and the Milk Teeth EP. Fans can watch the concert on the Amazon Music channel on Twitch and Prime Video starting at 6 p.m. PDT.
Suki’s The Sparklemuffin Tour, her previously announced 25-city North American headlining jaunt in support of the album, begins September 28th in Denver, and will make stops in Los Angeles, New York City, Chicago, Boston, Toronto, Montreal, and more. Preceding the tour, Suki will support Mitski at Portland, OR’s Moda Theatre (September 21st). For more ticket information, please visit https://laylo.com/sukiwaterhouse/m/sparklemuffintour.

Seattle, WA (June 20th, 2024) - Today, musician Suki Waterhouse is announcing the release of Memoir of a Sparklemuffin, her new 18-track double album, out worldwide on Friday, September 13th, 2024, from Sub Pop.
Suki is also sharing “Supersad,” the lead single which bursts out of the gate, kickstarted by fast-paced drum fills and garage-y guitars. “I tried to write a nineties song you could hear playing at the mall in Clueless or as an opening track for Legally Blonde,” she smiles. The single was produced by Brad Cook and the album’s Executive Producer Eli Hirsch, and written by Suki with Chelsea Balan, John Mark Nelson, and Lilian Caputo.
Also out today is the “Supersad” official video, in which Suki plays a bed-rot protagonist and her game show fairy godmother. The sparkling new visual is from filmmaker and longtime creative collaborator Émilie Richard-Froozan.
Suki’s music sounds like a collage of her inspirations, experiences, and emotions stitched together by honeyed vocal delivery, bright-eyed melodies, and evocative storytelling. It doubles as a mirror image of her life as a consummate creative, artist, actress, model, and mother, yet it also breaks the glass to unveil raw truth. She leans on an ever-evolving sonic palette to convey what she’s feeling—whether it be folky Americana, nineties alternative, turn-of-the-century indie, or handcrafted otherworldly pop. Now, the platinum-certified songstress asserts herself as a versatile, vibrant, and vital presence on Memoir of a Sparklemuffin.
Suki brought this body of work to life with the album’s Executive Producer Hirsch, as well as Jonathan Rado (Weyes Blood, Father John Misty, Beyonce), Cook (Bon Iver, War on Drugs, Snail Mail), Greg Gonzalez (Cigarettes After Sex), Rick Nowels (James Blake, Lana del Rey), and Natalie Findlay and Jules Apollinaire of the band Ttrruuces (with whom she co-wrote “Good Looking” and “OMG”).
She loosely tethered these 18 tracks to a transformative central concept represented by the Sparklemuffin spider….
“I came across the Sparklemuffin—which is wildly colored, does this razzle-dazzle dance, and its mate will cannibalize it if she doesn’t approve of the dance. It’s a metaphor for the dance of life we’re all in. The title felt hilarious, ridiculous, and wonderful to me.”
Suki’s The Sparklemuffin Tour, her previously announced 25-city North American headlining jaunt in support of the album, now begins at Salt Lake City’s Love Letters Festival on Friday, September 27th, and will make stops in Los Angeles, New York City, Chicago, Boston, Toronto, Montreal, and more.
Preceding the tour, Suki will also appear at Seattle’s Day In Day Out (July 12th), London’s All Points East (August 18th), and will support Mitski at Portland, OR’s Moda Theatre (September 21st).

About Suki Waterhouse
Sub Pop recording artist Suki Waterhouse has worked nonstop since the May 2022 release of I Can’t Let Go, her label debut. Later that year, she released the “Nostalgia” single and the Milk Teeth EP (featuring the newly Platinum-certified viral hit, “Good Looking”). In 2023, Suki released the monumental ballad “To Love.” She embarked on a wildly successful headline tour and would go on to perform in front of the largest festival crowds of her career in North and South America.
In 2024, Suki released the jubilant “OMG” and the sparkling “My Fun” and “Faded” ahead of her well-received Coachella debut, closing out the Gobi stage. “To Love,” “OMG,” “My Fun,” and “Faded” will be on her forthcoming album due out this year. Suki will also support that release with “The Sparklemuffin Tour,” her headlining tour this fall.
This past weekend, musician and actress Suki Waterhouse made her Coachella debut, headlining the Gobi Stage to a massive crowd of adoring fans. She premiered new songs live, delivered a spot-on Oasis cover, and even gave an adorable gender reveal on stage. You can now watch a live performance of “Faded,” her new song released last week worldwide on Sub Pop.
Of her Coachella set, Billboard said, “…She was embedded in one of the more luxurious sets the Gobi tent has likely ever seen (the aesthetic could perhaps best be described as “English teatime in the park”). In addition to performing fan-favorite tracks like “Johanna” and “Nostalgia” as well as newer songs like “Faded” and “OMG,” the singer-songwriter surprised the crowd by debuting a pitch-perfect cover of Oasis‘ “Don’t Look Back in Anger” so solid even the Brothers Gallagher themselves may have approved.”
Suki Waterhouse will perform at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, again closing out the Gobi Stage on Friday, April 19th.
Suki Waterhouse’s “Faded” was released with the ebullient “My Fun” late last week. Teen Vogue called the songs “vibey, summery, and chilled.” Rolling Stone said “‘My Fun’ is a laidback spring stunner, while ‘Faded’ is a mellow rocker backed by acoustic and strings. It features one hell of an opening from Waterhouse.” Meanwhile, PASTE included “My Fun” in its “Best New Songs” column, saying, “Beached out and carefree, Suki’s feel-good lyrics gleam through the bubblegum-sweet production.”
“My Fun” was composed by Suki Waterhouse, Natalie Findlay, and Jules Apollinaire, with lyrics by Waterhouse and Findlay, and produced by Apollinaire. “Faded” was composed by Waterhouse, Raj Jain, and Peter Labberton, with lyrics by Waterhouse and Jain, and produced by Jain, Labberton, Eli Hirsch, and apob. Both songs were mixed by Blue May and mastered by Matt Colton at Metropolis Studios. “My Fun” and “Faded” will be on her forthcoming album, due out later this year.
Later this summer, she’ll appear at Seattle’s Day In Day Out on Saturday, July 13th.
Suki Waterhouse has been working nonstop as a musician since the 2022 release of her Sub Pop debut, I Can’t Let Go. She followed the album with the standalone single and official video for “Nostalgia” and the Milk Teeth EP (featuring the Gold-certified single “Good Looking,” which went viral on TikTok and peaked at #1 on Spotify’s Viral USA Chart). In 2023, Suki released the single and official video for “To Love,” the song “Everyday’s A Lesson in Humility,” a summery collaboration with Belle and Sebastian, and in August, joined Local Natives on a reimagining of their single, “NYE.”
Last year, Suki played to some of the largest crowds of her career in South America (Lollapalooza in Argentina, Brazil, and Chile), the US (Governor’s Ball, Ohana, Lollapalooza, and Austin City Limits Festivals), and Mexico (at Corona Capital). Suki also starred as Karen Sirko in “Daisy Jones & The Six,” the Emmy-nominated Amazon Prime Video limited series based on the popular book by Taylor Jenkins Reid.
